TK.TYPE 1 HELPS INDIVIDUALS, CHILDREN AND FAMILIES GET THE RESOURCES AND SUPPORT TO THRIVE WITH T1D!
Who We Are
The Mallia family founded TK.Type 1 on Long Island, NY, in 2021 after Kaylee Mallia was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) at just 4 years old.
At TK.Type 1, our board is made up of individuals living with T1D or family members deeply connected to the cause. We understand that managing T1D is about more than just insulin—it’s about thriving in every aspect of life.
Living with T1D can feel overwhelming, especially for children and their families, as it requires constant access to essential tools, education, and emotional support. These resources are often costly and difficult to obtain. That’s where we come in! TK.Type 1 is dedicated to providing vital support systems, advocacy, and funding for the T1D community to ensure no one faces this journey alone!
Our Mission
Through financial support, TK.Type 1 helps children with T1D access the resources that make life with T1D a little easier.
With enough support and education, children and adults with T1D can live life to the fullest. TK.Type 1 helps children and families get resources and support to thrive with T1D!
Our mission is to empower individuals and families impacted by T1D through scholarships that fund life-changing resources:
How We Do It
At TK.Type 1, we provide essential support through two key programs:
Medical Reimbursement Program: We offer financial aid for life-saving supplies like insulin and CGMs to families in need.
1-on-1 Coaching: In partnership with Risely Health, we provide personalized guidance and support for individuals and families.
As a 501(c)(3), our work relies on donations to make these programs possible and ensure no one faces T1D alone.
TK.T1 x RISELY DIABETES COACHING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Our Mission
TK.Type 1 helps children and families get the very best diabetes education through Risely Health — a virtual type 1 diabetes coaching company.
This collaboration is designed to help you and your child understand T1D patterns, while discovering personalized strategies to manage type 1 diabetes more effectively.
About Coaching Scholarships
Through our partnership with Risely Health, we are offering coaching scholarships for T1D families.
The 1:1 coaching is designed to help parents/caregivers of T1D kids deal with the emotions and unique challenges of living with type one diabetes. Risely has coached thousands of adult T1Ds who were diagnosed in childhood and developed unhealthy patterns and habits.
This inspired us to start coaching T1Ds and their caregivers at an earlier stage so that they can grow up with more freedom and confidence.
Who Can Apply
Scholarships are available to adults or families with children and teens living with T1D. The foundation will consider every applicant’s financial needs and other relevant factors. Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been managing T1D for years, we are here to help.
